The study surveyed 585 mobile app developers and development managers across 9 countries on mobile development projects and processes.
So what are the keys to their success?
1. Strong team with required expertise
Successful projects have app developers with development experience, strong business and industry expertise. The study found that successful projects are 30% more likely to have a developer with more than 5 years of mobile development experience.

2. Flexibility by using cloud-based platforms and APIs
Successful projects use both cloud-based platforms and mobile application development platforms heavily.
To develop their mobile apps, successful teams are:
• 35% likely to use cloud-based platforms
• 31% likely to use mobile application development platforms.
Key takeaway, you must consider using cloud-based platforms and APIs to increase the development speed. Also use mobile app development platforms to avoid being tied into a specific platform or technology, an issue that slows projects down.
3. Collaboration across the ecosystem
Successful projects always maintain close collaboration with the entire ecosystem, from design to quality assurance and to end users.
Study respondents as a whole indicated that the number one trait of effective mobile application developers is communication, successful projects have better collaboration with stakeholders and end users.

4. Innovation using various analytics
